Something to Do - DIY Paint Splash Backdrop
Today’s “something to do” was inspired by Marie-Louise Photography’s blog post series! I can’t believe I had never thought of making my own backdrop before. While this one we made probably won’t be used very often it was something fun for the kids and I to do. I also was trying to think of ways to save these shirts that we got from Creatively Cut, the paint covered the food stains right up and now I can frame them up and keep them forever.
Products Used:
6x9 White Backdrop (I had just bought a bigger one so this was an old one I had just laying around the house). Any size will do! You could use a sheet if you wanted! I also put down an old vinyl backdrop as my drop cloth. Worked SO well!
Kids paint - This is what we had in our cupboards! I knew it was super washable off their skin (and my walls and floors if it came to that) and that’s all that mattered to me. It does say it’s currently sold out but thought I’d link it just in case.
And that was it! The kids used their fingers, toes and elbows and made their own rainbow splash backdrop. Looking at it now I think if I extended the paint a little bit and softened some of the splotches up I could TOTALLY create a session out of it. Check out Marie Louise’s blog for a much more versatile style of backdrop. That will be my next type!
