15+ Tips for Planning Your Wedding with Emily-May Photography

It’s Engagement season! Chances are if you’re here you are recently engaged and you aren’t sure where to start. I had my past brides, clients and friends on Instagram create this JUST FOR YOU! I’m also including my own tips for successful relationships with your chosen vendors, how to find them and a few key tips for you on your Wedding day.

Advice from Emily!

1) Find vendors you can connect with easily. You want vendors who are on your side and want your wedding to be just as an incredible as you are. If you find at the inquiry stage that the conversation is one sided or you just aren’t getting back what you want for information - take that as a sign! You want to have full trust in your team for your big day! Not everyone works well with every body else.

2) Build a schedule. I have my couples fill out a survey I created. It has questions to build a general timeline, creative shot requests, family photo shots that are needed etc. It takes about 30 minutes for you to fill out and it is SO helpful the day of. I print out ten copies the day of and if I need a hand calling names or with anything I distribute them around. People will want to help and I find it keeps everyone on the same page! Plus, I don’t know Uncle Jim but chances are someone there will and then we can round everyone up that much faster and move on to the next thing.

3) Sneak away. If on the day you want a quiet moment alone, TELL ME! I’ll take the blame. We can sneak off for some photos away from everyone else and then when we are done I will peace out and swear you were right behind me. You deserve peace and quiet for just the two of you on YOUR big day!
