What a wild few weeks. It’s a really hard time right now for everyone and the event industry is no different. Brides and Grooms and those newly engaged that are just starting to plan their weddings are now facing obstacles we’ve never encountered. Wedding dates are being postponed, guest lists are being cut and businesses are closing. We are doing our very best to continue on and stay in contact with our family and friends while trying to remember that everyone is processing differently right now. In all of this chaos… we’ve finally chosen a date after a 4 year long engagement (ah heck, what’s another year!) I’m trying to keep a positive outlook and having something like a big ol’ family wedding is the little ray of sunshine that I need.
A super special thanks to Fern & Frond for providing florals and styling pieces for these flatlays!
Basic Invite was so easy to use! I ordered my sample save the date invites in under an hour and a half from start to finish. There are over 900 wedding invitation sets, so if you like things to match to a T, they’ve got you. I wasn’t overwhelmed with all the options and loved how easy it was to customize what I wanted. They have almost unlimited colour options so you know that whatever your colour scheme is for your dream wedding, you’ll find it. You have the option to create a wedding website FOR FREE and they even have a free address collection service that you can share via social media or email. (Which will save me so much time copying and pasting my standard “Hey, I lost your address for the 3rd year in a row, what is it again?”) OH AND did I mention the envelopes? They have 40 colours and they’re all peel and stick! 40 colours. OF ENVELOPES. I was in stationary heaven looking through all these designs.
Wow, are we surprised that the first invite I gravitated towards features both flowers and a sparkly envelope? NOPE. This design was originally a foil card but I really wanted to see what it would look like as magnetic save the dates !
The second design is printed on real cherry wood! Kyle and I have looked at these types of invites in the past so I of course ordered one of these as a sample too.
I really wanted to see what my photos looked like printed so I messaged one of my current brides for September to see if I could use some of their GORGEOUS engagement photos that I took for these save the date magnets! I’m so glad I did. They are stunning. And the print quality is top notch.
I ordered these for myself, just 25 to see if I love them or not. And I do!! So I will definitely be adding them to my next order. I wanted something a little bit different but also a design I know will stand the test of time no matter the year. Basic Invite does just that!
I loved the bold colour here so I didn’t change anything in the design other than our names on the vintage save the date postcards. I did try it with our signature grey palette but it didn’t have that same pop. In hindsight, I probably would change it to a portrait orientation to match the front of the card, but hey, that’s why you order samples first!
And lastly, these beauties that match my business cards! I love the clear style and I’m definitely leaning towards that one. Any of these I’d be happy with for our save the date cards and invitations. What is your favourite?! Help me choose!!
