Our Easter was different this year. We normally go to Kyle’s parents and have Easter dinner there. There was always an Easter egg hunt (even before we had Ella!). We did our best to make our own memories but there was definitely a sense of something missing. Today Ella asked why she couldn’t go to grandma and grandpa’s house. We talked about the bad germs and how we need to do our best to stay home to protect everyone else. She got worried that the house wasn’t safe and she seemed quite scared. It was heartbreaking. I’m scared too. But I reassured her that the house is our safe place and we will continue to #stayhome.
I don’t make a bazillion dollars. (Shocker!) In fact, my income has been taken away by this pandemic that we have found ourselves in. I haven’t worked since mid March. But I believe in the power of small business. I am a small business (an itty bitty one!) And you want to know the people that have reached out to check if I’m doing okay? It’s not the CEO of Walmart. It’s the people that I have supported and that support me. So just a little food for thought. (MMMM food, that comes later!)
