Lake Life Boutique Spa with Emily-May Photography

And here I am, months behind on blog posts. I think I even have one from the summer left to do too. I also just finished editing some of my own family’s photos from… May. So that’s a thing. I always prioritize editing and getting everyone their photos over blogging, paperwork… cleaning my house etc. It’s about balance, right?

I loved adventuring off to Salmon Arm to take photos of Lake Life Boutique Spa. Stacey is amazing and so passionate about what she does. I learned SO MUCH in our hour long shoot. She also gifted me the product you see at the end and I am DETERMINED to finally try it out today. It’s supposed to be relaxing and I have a hard time.. doing that. But how freakin’ cool is it, in a Covid-19 world to be able to bring a touch of the spa home with you?!

Snowy Winter Adventure Session in Kamloops, BC with Emily-May Photography

Larissa and I started planning this shoot right after her last one this summer. We talked about wanting to incorporate Christmas, snow and adventure and we did it! We created a mood board on pinterest which really kept us on the same page. I love using pinterest as a starting point! But ultimately I want to create images for you and with you.

And how SWEET is Duke in his little bow from Wild Hearts Design! I get Ella bows from there and our amazing knit hats over the last two years. Definitely recommend them !

Camping, a Birthday & Sledding, oh my!

This year we have decided to stop buying more things and start making more memories. It’s a slow and gradual change - my love language is still gifts (and acts of service) and the kids are kids, they love new toys! But as I was gearing up to clear out a pile of stuffed animals and other toys that hadn’t been played with in months I realized that I wanted to make a change. So we’ve been adventuring and spending time as a family.

We have wanted to take the kids camping for a really long while now. But we aren’t brave enough to do an overnight so we loaded everyone up for a few hours and had a camping experience in an afternoon. I was STRESSED. A dog, two kids, a fire, a road and no service - I didn’t feel prepared enough. But we made it through, made some memories and now Ella asks to go “camping” once a week. (She has settled with a tent in the living room for now.)

Ella’s main gift for her birthday this year was a makeup lesson with Ginger Turley Artistry. Ella has been doing my makeup and her own for a while now and loves it. Being able to bring her to Ginger for some one on one time of being pampered and playing with all the brushes etc. was awesome to watch. And even now, a couple weeks later she still talks about it.

First sled of the season! (And I think ever!) Fall sees to have lasted 3 weeks this year and we dove right into winter.

Rainy Styled Engagement Session in the Okanagan with Emily-May Photography

WELL I’m obsessed with all of this. Jenna contacted me approximately 1 hour after she got engaged. (I love that!!) And booked me for an Okanagan adventure. I landed on this beach in Vernon - all the fall feels & a beautiful lake view. Leaving Kamloops I was getting a LITTLE worried about the rain and stopped for a now iconic umbrella. Enjoy these stunning photos!

Styled with a ton of gowns and options from #emclientcloset - this is a session of a lifetime.
